Purpose of PAVE Working Groups:
The work of OAD PAVE Committee is largely centered in the working groups.
The working groups provide a structure for ensuring a wide array of different types of professional development opportunities are offered to advisors.
Working groups provide members an opportunity to focus on one aspect of professional development.
Working Group Structure:
PAVE working groups, with the exception of Advising Awards are comprised of:
- PAVE Committee Members: Membership on (at least) one working group is expected for each PAVE Committee member.
- Each PAVE Committee member is asked to identify their first choice for committee, which will be fulfilled as much as possible.
- Advising Community: Open to all members of the advising community who want to contribute to advisor professional development (regardless of PAVE membership)
- Associates/At-large participants can choose their working group of choice, which will be filled as much as possible. If balancing of groups is needed, a participant may be asked if they will serve a different working group than their original choice.
Expectations:
All working groups are expected to be attentive to the overall goals of professional development for advisors, adhere to best practices, and be attentive to interests that represent the widest range of concerns and identities our advisors and students hold.

- The time commitment is approximately 4-6 hours per semester
- Attend meetings of their working group and notify the chair in a timely manner if they cannot attend.
