Minoring Outside Your College

Although UIC’s colleges do not require students to complete minors, you may elect to complete a minor while pursuing your undergraduate degree. If you are pursuing a minor offered within your college, please follow the procedures your college requires.

If you want to pursue a minor that is offered outside your college, then you need to follow the Procedure for Declaring a Minor Outside Your College to officially declare the minor.

Each academic college and minor department has its own specific requirements, deadlines and application processes. Specific requirements for each minor can be found in the Undergraduate Catalog at: http://catalog.uic.edu/ucat/degree-programs/degree-minors/. Please work with the minor advisor to ensure you’re meeting all of the minor requirements (residency, GPA, etc.) specified in the catalog.
