SHARE WITH STUDENTS: Study Abroad Office Workshops for Students 2/6, 2/7, 2/13 and 2/14!

The Study Abroad Office and the Office of the Vice Provost for Diversity will be collaborating to support students in pursuing international opportunities. Last year, UIC students received almost 1 million in scholarships and grants to support their study abroad experience.

Scholarship Writing Workshop

This workshop will share information about Study Abroad scholarship opportunities, discuss what factors make a successful essay, and lead exercises in learning how to write about your identity and diversity for Study Abroad scholarships.

Gilman Scholarship Workshop

The Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship is a national scholarship for undergraduate students who receive the Pell Grant and are pursuing summer, semester, or academic year international opportunities.

This workshop will share information about Study Abroad scholarship opportunities specific to students who receive the Pell Grant, discuss what factors make a successful Gilman Scholarship essay winner, review and practice writing skills necessary for receiving a grant on the national scale, and lead exercises in learning how to write about your identity and diversity for Study Abroad scholarships.
