SHARE WITH STUDENTS/PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: UIC Food Summit on 3/14!
Greetings,
Did you know that student hunger decreases the likelihood of reaching graduation?
In fact, in a recent study, 41% of UIC students felt that worrying about food or not having money to buy food had affected their school performance.
Because of the prevalence of food insecurity among college students, on behalf of the UIC Wellness Center and the UIC School of Public Health Undergraduate Class of 2019, we will be hosting our Feeding Excellence: Power To The Pantry summit, and would like to invite you!
It will be hosted in UIC’s Cardinal Room (room 329 in Student Center East: 750 S. Halsted St. on Thursday, March 14th from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
We are hosting this event to speak about and bring awareness to the topic of food insecurity among students on campus and evaluate how we can improve upon this public health crisis.
More details are yet to come, so be sure to look out for our emails and mark Thursday, March 14th on your calendar!
Please follow us on Facebook at UIC Wellness Center or Instagram @uicwellnesscenter for more details and facts on the event, and how food insecurity among students on campus can impact you and those you care about.
Best,
UIC School of Public Health Undergraduate Class of 2019
