SHARE WITH STUDENTS: LITH 115 for Fall 2021 is open – World Cultures Gen Ed!

Course on one of Chicago's most famous immigrant cultures!

Please help us publicize a wonderful Gen Ed course for Fall 2021 that introduces students to Lithuanian culture.

Chicago is known as "Little Lithuania" and famous for having one of the largest Lithuanian communities in the world, so we're excited to be able to share this course with UIC students!

Lith 115 course offers a diversity of insights over the cultural landscape of Lithuania: mythology, literature, film, architecture, art, geography, population, emigration, history, resistance,  language, and identity. Every semester a guest speaker comes to address our class: scholar, writer, film director, ambassador. We read, watch, and discuss. We take part in a field trip to the former Chicago Stockyards as described in notorious Upton Sinclair’s novel “The Jungle” that features Lithuanian emigrants.
All class materials are available online at no cost.

The course fulfills the World Cultures Gen Ed category and all course materials are available for free.

Please download and share the flyer with your students!
