SHARE WITH STUDENTS: Commuter Student Resource Center Updates – extended hours, locker clean out, and summer renovation, etc.

As we near the end of the semester, we would like to share some key updates and reminders related to our center:

Extended Hours for Finals (Mon. April 29-Fri. May 10)

In order to accommodate commuting students who may be on campus later during finals, our center regularly hosts extended hours. These hours are also featured on our department webpage.

Tues. May 7       6:00PM - 8:00PM

Wed. May 8       6:00PM - 8:00PM

Thurs. May 9      6:00PM - 8:00PM

Friday. May 10  Closed at 5PM

Locker Clean Out (Clean Out Items by: Friday, May 10 at 5:00PM)
The deadline to remove your belongings from your locker is Friday, May 10 at 5:00PM (close).  If you need to leave your belongings in the locker through the weekend into the following week, please e-mail commuter@uic.edu to make arrangements. We are glad to accommodate.

Keep in mind the following:

  • All lockers must be emptied by Friday, May 10 at 5PM (close)
  • Any items left behind past this period will be donated or thrown away.
  • When removing your items, please leave the CSRC provided lock.


Center Closure for Summer Renovation (Late May to Early August)

This summer, the Commuter Student Resource Center will be closed for renovation late May to early August. Commuter and Off-Campus Life staff will remain in the center through May in preparation for the construction but will relocate to a temporary work location in Student Center East. Updates on our temporary location will be provided via e-mail and posted to our department webpage: commuter.uic.edu.

  • Lactation Room Access:
    • For lactation room access in Student Center East, please visit the Student Center East Building Managers office located on the first floor near the Halsted Street entrance.
  • Microwave Access:
    • You will be able to access microwaves in the Inner Circle.
  • Locker Rental Access:
    • For locker rental access, you can visit the Building Managers office located on the first floor of Student Center East near the Halsted Street entrance. For more information on their locker rental process, visit: https://studentcenters.uic.edu/services/
