Please encourage your undergraduate women and nonbinary students at UIC who non-engineering majors to register for CS 111, an introductory computer science course for complete beginners in the fall.   Please forward this announcement (Link to Online Announcement) with the details and video below to students, advisors, staff, and faculty!

****

To help UIC women and nonbinary students compete for highly paid jobs that require tech skills, Break Through Tech Chicago is encouraging you to take an entry-level computer science course in fall 2022.

As a current UIC student majoring in other fields, this is a great opportunity for you to explore how adding a tech and computing skill set will unlock a greater range of rewarding career opportunities. Interdisciplinary skill sets are in high demand in the job market, as well as graduate and professional degrees.

So, join us! If you participate in this program, a computer science course for complete beginners in UIC’s fall session, we'll cover the cost of your textbook. CS 111 will set you up to continue on for a minor in computer science, a major in one of UIC's 5 tech disciplines and increase your technical skill set. You’ll also earn 3 credits toward your undergraduate degree.

Unsure if tech is for you? This two-minute video might shape your thinking: (Video Link)

Request registration for our fall section of CS 111. Only 48 seats are available. When the course is full, registration will close.

We look forward to having you in class!
