Join the Arab American Cultural Center in celebrating our graduates of 2023. Enjoy an evening filled with celebrations of the accomplishments of our students, honoring their efforts and that of their families, listening to words of wisdom, and enjoying cultural performances.

Keynote Address: Representative Abdelnasser Rashid
Performance by Arab Music Ensemble with Ronnie Malley

Abdelnasser Rashid’s career has been focused on fighting for working families and building a strong middle class. He has a Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University and a Master of Business Administration in Finance & Economics from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business. His legislative priorities include property tax relief, affordable housing, environmental protection and consumer protection. He is a former Deputy Chief of Staff to Cook County Clerk David Orr, former Field Director, Jesus “Chuy” Garcia for Mayor, and former Illinois Deputy State Director, Bernie Sanders for President. Rashid is the first Palestinian-American to serve in the Illinois House of Representatives. He lives in Bridgeview with his wife and three children.

Ronnie Malley is a multi-instrumentalist musician, theatrical performer, producer, and educator. He has collaborated with artists internationally, composed and consulted for many cultural music projects in film and theater, appeared as a guest artist on several works, and is executive director of Intercultural Music Production in Chicago. Ronnie has a degree in Global Music Studies from DePaul University and is a teaching artist with Chicago Public Schools, Global Voices Initiative, and Chicago Arts Partnership in Education, a faculty member at Old Town School of Folk Music, and a guest lecturer at universities. He is an international artist and has performed with the music groups Allos Musica, Apollo’s Fire, Diwan Al-Han, EMME (East Meets Middle East), Lamajamal, Mucca Pazza, Newberry Consort, Surabhi Ensemble, and the U of C Middle East Music Ensemble.

Event will be held at the Student Services Building on the first floor.
