3  Final Passport Grants Available for Students + FirstGen Flames Abroad Scholarship Reminder

Earlier this academic year, the UIC Study Abroad Office was selected as a recipient of IIE American Passport Project grants. We received funding to award 25 first-year, first-generation students with a grant to apply for their U.S. passport. We have 3 more grants to award before April 1st! We need your help to find three more students to nominate. Please see the eligibility criteria below and if you have a student in mind encourage them to apply at the link below. The remaining grants will be awarded on a first-come first-served basis.

Eligibility:

  • Students must be a U.S. citizen
  • Students must be a current undergraduate UIC degree-seeking student in their first year
  • Students must not already have a U.S. passport
  • Students must be eligible for a Federal Pell Grant
  • Preference will be given to first-generation college students (meaning students who are the first in their immediate family to attend college)

Students may apply here before April 1st.

Additionally, please remember that the FIrstGen Flames Abroad Scholarship deadline is also April 1st. There is still time for students to apply for this scholarship. For more information, please visit this webpage. You can find a media kit here.
Thanks for encouraging any first-year, first-generation college student you work with to consider both of these funding opportunities.

Sincerely,
The UIC Study Abroad Office
