PROFESSIONIAL DEVELOPMENT: Call for Staff and Student Volunteers at the Undergraduate Research Forum 2022!
Call for Staff & Student Volunteers at the Undergraduate Research Forum 2022!
On April 6, 2022, over 200 undergraduate students will present their research and creative inquiry projects at the UIC Undergraduate Research Forum (URF) at the UIC Dorin Forum (725 W. Roosevelt Rd.).
This important campus-wide event, sponsored by the Office of Undergraduate Research, the Honors College, the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research, the University Library, the Urban Health Program, and the Center for Clinical and Translational Science, showcases undergraduate student research covering a broad range of scholarship across a variety of disciplines.
The URF planning team is calling for additional staff and undergraduate student volunteers to support this massive endeavor. Student volunteers are needed between 11am and 2pm to assist with various duties at the URF, including welcoming attendees, assisting student presenters and judges, and more! Several additional staff and advisor judges are needed for various duties between 11am and 4pm, including assisting with the orientation for judges and serving as standby judges.
For students, volunteering at URF provides an opportunity to support your peers and the university as well as a chance to gain a better understanding of some of the work that goes into a successful capstone or research project.
For staff and advisors, volunteering at URF represents an opportunity to serve undergraduate students and the mission of UIC, as well as a chance to connect with colleagues and students.
We hope you will consider volunteering and helping to spread the word to others whom you feel may be interested.
Volunteer registration has been extended through 5pm, Wednesday March 30, 2022.
