PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Student Affairs Faculty Fellows Presentation on 10/5 – Shocks to the System: An Ecological Analysis of the Pandemic’s Disparate Impact on Undergraduate Students at UIC

Last year, Student Affairs launched a new fellows program to support UIC researchers and faculty who conduct research in areas relevant to Student Affairs (https://sa.uic.edu/about/student-affairs-assessment/faculty-fellows/). Dr. Alexios Rosario-Moore, one of the Student Affairs Faculty Fellows, will be presenting his work virtually on Tuesday, October 5 from 11am-12pm. Shocks to the System: An Ecological Analysis of the Pandemic’s Disparate Impact on Undergraduate Students at UIC

The collective and individual traumas of the past two years have had a significant impact on undergraduate students as they experienced significant disruptions to home, work, and academic life. In this interactive presentation researchers will share findings from a yearlong study of the pandemic’s impact on undergraduate students at UIC, and solicit interpretations and recommendations from staff and students.

Alexios Rosario-Moore (Ph.D.) is a Clinical Assistant Professor in Educational Policy Studies and the Co-coordinator of the M.Ed. in Urban Higher Education Program at the College of Education. His research focuses on racial and socioeconomic equity in secondary and post-secondary education through an integrated analysis of federal and state policy, organizational structure, and the experiences of staff, educators, and students.

Please register for his presentation here by October 1. Also, feel free to reach out to Sue Farruggia with any questions about this presentation.
