Presentation Title: Applying Predictive Analytics to Promote Student Success: Integrating 4- and 6-Year Graduation Models

Topic Overview:

The Office for Research on Student Success has developed first-year by-term indicators to identify students who may encounter challenges to graduating in 4 or 6 years and to inform prevention and early intervention strategies, as well as increase graduation rates at UIC. This presentation will focus on using predictive analytics to facilitate proactive advising and coaching in order to keep students on track for graduation. We will also share a series of interactive dashboards which link indicators to outcomes and student demographics on an aggregate level, and discuss plans for piloting these by-term metrics on an individual level in iAdvise.

Presenters: Darima Butitova, PhD, Undergraduate Affairs Data Analyst, Office for Research on Student Success; Ray Fuller, Undergraduate Affairs Data Analyst, Office for Research on Student Success; Lindsey Back, PhD, Director, Office for Research on Student Success.
