We've had so much fun with our summer events and as Chicago opens, we want to provide more opportunities for our community members to experience summer in the city together sooooo....save the dates for these fun activities (weather permitting);

Brown Bag High Tea Chat "It's Farmer's Market Season" - Friday, June 18th at 2:00 pm - We've talked about your favorite places to be outside and some of your favorite places to go camping....now let's talk the opportunity of the summer - FARMER'S MARKETS -

Whether you go for your weekly produce from local farmers, or for the experience and the specialty foods, come chat with us about your favorite farmer's markets around Chicagoland and beyond. Who are the best farms, what is your favorite specialty food you can pick up, any tips and tricks, bring 'em all! Bring your favorite coffe or tea, or do it iced since summer is here and join us for this casual Friday afternoon chat!

Also, bonus question (and this one is Joey's favorite) - what kinds of summer recipes use your farmer's market finds?

Pop-Up Give Yourself a Break "Join us for a walk and a frosty beverage at the end of our exercise- let's have some fun on the 606!" Friday, July 23rd 3:30 pm - As we summer sizzles in the city, we think it might be time to get some fitness and frosty  beverages together....join us at the 606 for a walk and we'll gather at an establishment near the 606 afterward to sit outside and catch up. RSVP coming soon, but you can email Joey if you're interested and want more information (jvolpe@uic.edu)!

OAD Goes to Millennium Park "ABT Across America" - Thursday, July 8th at 6:00 pm Join us in Millennium Park for this very special event in Millennium Park with a performance by the American Ballet Theater. This FREE 50-minute performance at 7:30 pm features the Chicago premiere of Lauren Lovette’s La Follia VariationsJessica Lang’s Let Me Sing Forevermore set to the music of Tony Bennett; the famous pas de deux from Don Quixote; and Indestructible Light created by Darrell Grand Moultrie during quarantine and featuring music by Duke EllingtonCount Basie, and Billy Strayhorn.  RSVP coming soon!
