PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: OAD hosting training sessions on changes to Spring 2020 Satisfactory Academic Progress – three options 5/18, 5/19, and 5/21!

Spring 2020 SAP Changes Info and Training Sessions

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, there are provisions from the federal government about the effects of COVID-19 for students related to Satisfactory Academic Progress and cancellation of financial aid.

Student Financial Aid and Scholarships has put together a process that addresses those provisions to the benefit of students; however, it does have some important details that advising units will need to be aware of when working with students who are eligible for these COVID-19 provisions. It also means that some of the advice that we would normally provide to students who have had their financial aid cancelled because of SAP needs to change. These provisions also intersect with the Office for Research on Student Success’s Promoting Academic Progress Project activities this May.

OAD has partnered together with the Office of Student Financial Aid and Scholarships on a process using iAdvise to help advisors working with students who have Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) cancellations this Spring 2020 and who may lose their financial aid eligibility.

To train the advising community about the new provisions, policies, and processes, we will be hosting a Zoom meeting at three different times during the Week of May 18th. It is the same session offered at three different dates and times to accommodate schedules:

Monday, May 18th 3:30 - 4;30 p.m.
Tuesday, May 19th 2:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Friday, May 22nd 10:00 - 11:00 a.m.

Location: Zoom - you will receive the link upon RSVP.
