PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: iAdvise Tip of the Week – Students can see messages they’ve gotten from iAdvise in their “Messages” menu!
Here's this week's tip from the iAdvise Project Team:
- Students can always access messages advisors send or the automated messages that go with flags, kudos, to do's referrals, and appointment confirmations ...
- We know it can be complicated for students to find emails that were sent once time passes, but if you sent a message through iAdvise, did a To Do that sends a message, or the student got an email confirmation of an appointment, all of their messaging from iAdvise are in their "Messages" Menu so you can ask them to log in and check the message within the system. To guide them, you can tell them to:
- Log into iAdvise through the my.UIC "Advising" Tab. (Note: Advisors use the "Advisors" Tab, students use the "Advising" tab or they can search for iAdvise.)
- Then go to the Hamburger Menu on the upper left. (Never head the term "Hamburger Menu" - see those three lines - that's the burger and bun and if you've had us train you, you know we call it the "Burger Menu" in deference to our vegan and vegetarians in the community. Once you see it, you can't unsee it!)
- Click on "Messages" and they can select the timeframe in which they want to see the messages - it will go back as far as 6 months.
- Then click on the message they want to see and go from there.
