PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: iAdvise News of the Week – Calendar Synch Fixed, Advanced Calendar Management Consultations, and more!

The iAdvise Project Team has news (and some tips) for you:

iAdvise Calendar Synching issue has been resolved!
As noted on Thursday evening, the iAdvise calendar synching issues that were causing Outlook not to synch back and forth with iAdvise have been resolved. A Tip: Remember that calendar synching is not instant - 5 minutes is average, 20 minutes is delayed, 30 minutes is very delayed. We are confident that the fix is stable; however, please notify us immediately at iadvisehelp@uic.edu if you begin experiencing issues again.

Advanced Calendar Management Consultations starting week of November 2nd!
If you would like to work with the OAD team to organize optimum calendar management - using your Outlook synch, setting Office Hours availablity, and using Reserve Time, we will be offering individual consultations starting November 2nd. You can use drop-in hours, but we do expect that you will need to share your screen and show your calendar, so we do prefer these consultations to be individual. We will talk through how you are managing releasing availability, optimum use the Outlook synch, strategic use of Reserve Time, and many other items such as setting away messages.

Reminder - Please regularly check your filters, clear and re-initiate them. You don't want to miss tracking items because of filters!
We also recommend that you check your filters in your Tracking Menu and clear and re-set your filters regularly. We have noticed that some folks are keeping filters on and they may interfere with newly delivered tracking items that aren't selected in the filter. To work around this but not have an overwhelming view, we recommend clearing a filter to check to make sure you're aware of the newest items delivered and then re-place your filter.

To clear filters, go to the right side of the upper bar and click the X next to "Edit Filters" or go into the Filters Dialog box and click "Clear All Filters." Either will work and then you can review new items and re-place filters if needed.
