PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: iAdvise News and Tip of the Week – we’ve added info into the Overview in the Student Profile for quick reference!
The iAdvise Project Team is pleased to provide some news with this week's tip:
We've added information over the Fall 2019 semester into the Overview section of the Student Profile in iAdvise!
- We know that having a quick view of pertinent information for students available is helpful! Although similar information is available in the Info section of the profile, the Overview can give you some quick information and you can filter on the information contained there. Here's a guide to some new information included in the Overview:
- Registration Status: Either Registration Holds will be listed, or if the student is registered, the Registered: Active will be listed. Hint: If neither of those show on the top of the Overview, scroll down to check if the student has graduated if they are a continuing student.
- Banner Cohort: the student's Banner chort is available in the top section of the Overview. Hint: The student's first term is also available slightly farther down.
- Academic Program Information: There is a range of academic program information contained in the overview including the full academic program code, but also the student's current major, minor, and educational goal.
- Academic Standing, GPA Information, and Credits: Throughout the profile there is information about the student's current academic standing, UIC GPA, overall and transfer credits, etc. They are in groups throughout the profile. Hint: This information can be useful for SAP calculations, etc.
- Graduation Information: If the student is enrolled or has been enrolled, there is a notation about whether the student has a Graduation Application filed or if the student has Graduated. Hint: If you see "No" in Graduation Application and Graduated appears and shows as "True", this student has graduated. If you see just "Graduation Application: No" listed, then this student has not graduated or does not have a current pending graduation application.
- Demographic Information: Halfway down the profile, you will find helpful demographic information ranging from first-generation status to residency and gender.
- Primary Advisor: If the student is assigned an advisor, here's a quick handy way to see who it is. Hint: Don't forget they also will show up in the Network section of the profile!
- Other Important Info - There are significant attributes that are important to know for students also included such as whether the student is athlete or if the student attended Orientation late and has the attribute for late orientation assigned in Banner. Hint: If the student you're viewing doesn't have these attributes in Banner, you won't see this information in the profile!
