PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: iAdvise News and Tips – Tips for getting ready for summer activities!

The iAdvise Project Team has a tip for you:

It's that time of year again where we close out the academic year and are getting ready for summer - SAP, summer classes, and Orientation! Make sure your iAdvise profile is up-to-date and also get ready for SAP activities in iAdvise for your continuing students.

Advisor Profile and General Overview
As new students enter the iAdvise system, please don't forget to review your Advisor Bio and General Overview in iAdvise. You can make adjustments focused for new students - additions, etc. by:

  1. Go to your Hamburger Menu
  2. Click the carrot next to your name.
  3. Click "Edit Profile"
  4. Make any adjustments you would like and then save our changes.

SAP
Satisfactory Academic Progress is run and will be available the 17th of May in iAdvise. Academic standing and other information about a student's GPA and completion will become available on the Student Profile. More info is forthcoming in next week's iAdvise Tips about SAP and we'll hold some SAP training/Q&A for advisors to help students over the next few weeks. Watch for that info!

Student Registration
Don't forget that you can see if your students still have holds! You can filter for a range of different types of holds that prevent registration, here's how you do it:

  1. Pick your appropriate connection for the in you "Connection" drop down menu
  2. Go to the Students Menu of your iAdvise
  3. Click "Add Filters" - note that if you already have a filter on, you may need to clear filters or you will "Edit Filter"
  4. Go to the "Attributes" section of your filter
  5. Click "Add Attribute" and select "Registration Holds"
  6. IF you want to just see who has holds, you can select "Assigned to Student"; however, if you want to look for a specific hold such as College Advising, Title IX, or Bursar financial holds, you can select specific value and use the following options with the * wildcard: *Title IX* or *Advising* or *Bursar*
  7. Then click "Submit" - KEEP IN MIND - you cannot select all of the specific hold options together unless you want students who have all holds. Filters are "and" - not "or."
