PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: iAdvise News and Tips – Filtering for incoming students…

The iAdvise Project Team has a tip for you:

Now that incoming students are coming into iAdvise as they complete their pathway to enrollment, you can find most new students by filtering for the "First Term" being Fall 2022.

Here's how you access them:

  1. Go to the "Students" Tab
  2. Go to the filtering section
  3. Go to the "Attributes" section of the filter
  4. Select "First Term"
  5. Select "Specific Value" and enter *220228*
  6. Click "Submit"

Keep in mind that there are some notable exceptions for students who might be transitioning from UIC Global over this summer; however, most of your incoming students can be found filtering in this manner should you need to get an idea of which students are entering for their first term this coming Fall! Also, never forget that iAdvise is role and relationship based so you have to have access to the "Overview" screen for students to appear in this kind of filter.
