PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: OAD Halloween Hop Info 10/28 and 10/30. Sign-up to pick up your advising t-shirt, a mask from Study Abroad, and some Halloween candy!
Yes, you saw that correctly - we're gonna do it and we're going to do it safely. We want you to have your shirt and mask, and enjoy our version of trick or treating. Safety is of utmost importance to us and we are following guidance as we make our plans and will continue to monitor positivity rates and keep you posted.
If you're comfortable to stop by one of five locations over two days where Joey and Nick will "Halloween Hop" around Chicagoland (yes - suburbs are included). We will be stopping by at the pre-set locations for a few hours so that you could stop by and pick up your items. We will set up, open the "trunk" and you can partake!
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
You will use the following sign-up and give us your t-shirt size so we know you're planning on coming. We will be in two locations on Wednesday, October 28th at set times and we will be in three locations on Friday, October 30th ending up near campus. You can sign up to stop by and pick up your items so we know where you will be coming and we can space out pickups for social distancing precautions.
We are so very grateful to our four Halloween Hosts (Angela Prazza-Winters, Alanna O'Connor, Jessie Justmann, and Marlee Stein) some of whom are also going to be able to provide you with your t-shirt and mask even when we have "hopped" to our next stop.
OUR "HOP" SCHEDULE
Wednesday, October 28th - Lombard and hop to Bridgeport
Lombard: We will start in the western suburbs with our first host from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m.
Bridgeport: We're going to do our next hop to Bridgeport in the city and we'll be there from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.
Friday, October 30th - Lincoln Park hop to Portage Park and hop to Joey's House (Near Campus)
Lincoln Park: We will start in Lincoln Park and be there from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
Portage Park: The we're going to hop to Portage Park on the northwest side and we'll be there from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.
Near Campus - Joey's House: And our final hop will be to Joey's House, which is in the West Loop near campus for 4:00 - 6:00 (or when we're done)
We will be maintaining social distancing, we can arrange for a "contact less" pickup as you're comfortable, and please know that if you can't join us, we'll save your shirt for you!
Can't make it to one of the times but want to pick up your shirt? Don't worry! If you can't make our two hour slots, our Lombard Host and Bridgeport Host will be able to provide you with your t-shirt at other times too! For our Lombard location, we will also offer evening drop by time between 4 and 6:30 p.m. and our Bridgeport host is willing to have you stop by anytime Wednesday afternoon, Thursday between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. or even Friday while we're hopping elsewhere. To take advantage of that option, please email us at oad@uic.edu with your t-shirt size and which location and what time you can do your pickup and we'll coordinate.
