FOR ADVISORS’ INFORMATION: Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Policy Update and 4 upcoming trainings!

Attention, advisors and coaches! There is an update to the Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy starting this May 2023:

NEW POLICY IN BRIEF - As of May 2023, all students being reviewed for Satisfactory Academic Progress will be assessed based upon the same Qualitative and Quantitative requirements. Students, irrespective of attempted credit hours, will be assessed for a minimum 2.00 GPA in addition to CROP and Maximum Timeframe.

We are hosting training for advisors and coaches to learn about the new policy, learn how it affects addressing SAP financial aid cancellations with students, learn about the new resources available for reference, and provide orientation on the updated processes to address SAP cancellations, which will now be using online forms for SAP Appeals and SAP Review Requests starting this May 2023.

There are four dates for this ONE HOUR training, please pick one to attend:

Thursday, April 20:         3-4pm
Wednesday, April 26:     2-3pm
Tuesday, May 2:              10-11am
Friday, May 12:               10-11am

RSVP for one of these one hour sessions at https://go.uic.edu/saptraining.

The Promoting Academic Progress web page is updated and will continue to receive updates as we move closer to the May 2023 SAP run after the Spring 2023 finals week and grading.

Please email oad@uic.edu with questions and we hope to see you at one of the upcoming SAP trainings.
