Working with our students remotely when students are not on campus or when both advisors and students are not on campus means that we may have questions. This page endeavors to assist with both UIC and national resources for working and supporting our student as we work remotely with them in online video appointments, phone appointments, or advise via email.

Tips for Adjusting to Remote Advising

It takes a village, and many of our UIC community members are lending their expertise. Contained here are some links to UIC developed resources, compiled links to information needed, and programs we’re offering to support our community members at UIC in this time of disruption. There are a range of resources including links to food pantries, CPS links, mental health, etc.

UIC is continuously developing resources related to COVID-19 and is providing information on using technology. Following are some useful links to technology resources to use while working remotely, updated news on COVID-19, the university’s response to the recommendations from the CDC and Illinois public health officials, and UIC HR policies.

There are also some helpful links to recent news and tips related to using online platforms.

There are a range of national higher education organizations who are providing information related to university responses to COVID-19 and continuity of services. The Centers for Disease Control also have interim information to inform higher education institutions.
