PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: OAD Goes to Millennium Park for Summer Music – June 24th!
Surprise, surprise OAD friends - we've finally got some warmer temperatures, but it's supposed to rain on Monday evening! Thanks to those who RSVP'ed to come to Millennium Park. We'll keep in touch and give an update mid-afternoon on Monday to make sure everyone knows if our planned event is still a go. But never fear, even if we have to postpone, we will still have OAD fun within the next few weeks!
It's finally summer in Chicago!!!!! Don't miss our visits to Millennium Park and other summer events in July and August. They all lead up to our end of summer/beginning of fall Advisors' BBQ, but we've got some summer fun to have before we get to fall...

Chucho Valdes & Jazz Batá
Winner of six GRAMMY® Awards and three Latin GRAMMY® Awards, Cuban pianist, composer, arranger and band leader Chucho Valdes has been a key figure in the Afro-Cuban jazz for the past 50 years. Chucho returns to the exploration of the sacred rhythms of the sacred batá drum, the music that would form the foundation of his history making group Irakere.
Fareed Haque + Casseus
Fareed Haque is an international guitar virtuoso steeped in classical and jazz music. His unique command of the guitar infuses his performances with tradition and fearless innovation. He will perform the works of the late contemporary Haitian American guitarist and composer Franz Casseus.

Time: We'll leave UIC at 5:15 p.m.to get ourselves a spot - meet us in the UH lobby if you want to go downtown together...
Concert begins 6:30 p.m. if you want to meet us at Millennium Park
OAD always brings the munchies and refreshments - you bring your blanket or beach chair!
