Rachel Caidor and Dan Cairo from the Campus Advocacy Network will spend 1.5 hours with advisors working through topics including what an advocate is, confidentiality and the role of an advocate, how advocate services work, how to refer students to CAN for services, what advisors should expect when doing a referral, CAN's efforts to make UIC a safer community, etc.

The workshops will be held on May 26th - one on the east campus and one on the west campus. Please RSVP by May 20th at http://go.uic.edu/uarccanworkshoprsvp.

The class combines interactive learning, dialogue, field trips and guest lectures. Formerly incarcerated people and family members will participate in some of the projects.

This class would be especially interesting for students from CLJ, Sociology, Anthropology, Political Science, Social Work, Media Studies, Public Health, Neuroscience, Theater and Music, African American Studies, Latin American Students, and MUSE.
