UARC sponsored event on May 26th: Campus Advocacy Network Workshop for Advisors

UARC sponsored event on May 26th – Campus Advocacy Network Workshop for Advisors

CAN will be providing information on their resources and services – once on the east campus and once on the west campus!

Now that you may have been trained at one of our UARC sponsored “Know Your IX” trainings for advisors or you may have attended one of the campus events held during this April’s Sexual Assault Awareness Month, the UARC is pleased to sponsor a special workshop with the Campus Advocacy Network to learn about the resources and services they provide. Rachel Caidor and Dan Cairo from the Campus Advocacy Network will spend 1.5 hours with advisors working through topics including what an advocate is, confidentiality and the role of an advocate, how advocate services work, how to refer students to CAN for services, what advisors should expect when doing a referral, CAN’s efforts to make UIC a safer community, etc.

The workshops will be held on May 26th – one on the east campus and one on the west campus.

10:00 A.M. – 11:30 A.M.

2:00 P.M. – 3:30 P.M.

Please RSVP at by May 20th.

If you have questions, please contact Joey Volpe ( who is coordinating the event on behalf of UARC.
