PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: NACADA Region 5 Awards and other reminders…
Reminders from NACADA Region 5:
Take some time to review the Region 5 Awards, Grants, and Scholarship programs. Applications have slowly started coming in since July 1 and the deadline for application is November 1. Now may be the best time to submit your application for one of the awards, grants, or scholarships. https://www.nacada.ksu.edu/Community/Regions/Region-5/Apply-for-Awards.aspx.
Many of us will gather in Atlanta GA October 5-8 for the NACADA Annual Conference. This years' theme is "ATL: Advising to Learn ." If you are planning to attend make sure that you have made reservations at one of the conference hotels and registered for the conference. There is also a myriad of outstanding pre-conference workshops from which to choose if you plan to come a day early. We will have the annual Region 5 meeting which I will send the details closer to the dates of the conference. As in the past, we will have prize drawings during the meeting to celebrate the success of Region 5 and the conference held in Toronto ON this past April. Also, mark the dates of March 15 - 17 on your calendar and plan on joining your colleagues at Rosemont, IL for our 2017 Region 5 Annual Conference. Details about the IL conference will be available after the NACADA Annual Conference in Atlanta.
