2017 – 2018 Events for Advisors

Happy Spring Semester! We are looking forward to a great winter season!

Featured events through February

There’s a lot going on this winter and spring and we’re excited you’re going to be a part of it! We’ve got our common readings group meetings, our first NACADA Webinar viewing about professional competencies, Spring 2018 Advising Summit,  and you shouldn’t miss them. We will also be hosting Advisor Week activities in March and Brown Bags later in the spring. We’ll update you soon on those events!


The Spring 2018 events calendar is updated regularly.  OAD Steering Committee members are securing dates from presenters for brown bags/coffee talks and other activities are being organized and added.

January 8thOAD Brown Bag “Immigration under the new administration: how can we prepare?” with Student Legal Services – 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. in 2550 UH (RSVP here!)

February 7th: Viewing of NACADA December Webinar – “Building Advisor Competency: Introduction to the NACADA Academic Advising Core Competencies Model” – 3:00 – 4:30 p.m. LOCATION TBD (RSVP forthcoming – watch for our announcement in next week’s Advising Weekly Updates)

February 15th: February TT Advisor Common Readings – 12:00 – 12:50 p.m. in LIB 1-470 (watch for our upcoming announcement and link to the article or join the TT mailing list)  

February 23rd: Spring 2018 Advising Summit and Post-Summit Networking Event – 12:30 – 4:30 with LUNCH for Summit and Networking after Summit ends in SCE 302

March 26th – 30th: ADVISOR WEEK – There’s so much, we’re just saying you should save time during the whole week – especially for Advisor Conference, TT Common Readings lunches, featured workshops, and our networking events! For those of you who haven’t experienced Advisor Week, just wait – it’s not to be missed! A full schedule will be sent out in mid-January.
