Please remind your students that there is still time to apply for Summer and Fall 2016 study abroad programs. The deadline is March 18. For more information visit our website http://studyabroad.uic.edu or our office at 502 University Hall.
We are looking forward to working with you on increasing the number of UIC undergraduates who have access to an international academic experience. One great way to encourage them to get involved is through participation in a program where UIC faculty are teaching during the summer. For 2016, these offerings include:
- Italian Culture and the Arts in Siena, Italy with Maria Iusco [Hispanic and Italian Studies]
- Movement, Mood and the Mediterranean Studies in Barcelona, Spain with John Coumbe-Lilley [Kinesiology and Nutrition]
- Reimagining Poland: History and Culture in the 20th Century in Krakow, Poland with Keely Stauter-Halsted [History]
- Applied Psychology Social Services Internship in Paris, France with Kathryn Engel [Psychology]
Financial aid travels with the student and there are many scholarship opportunities. Last academic year the Study Abroad office helped students receive over $250,000 in scholarships and support funding. These funds made studying abroad accessible to many of your students who may otherwise not have been able to take advantage of this valuable undergraduate educational experience.
