STUDY ABROAD

Greetings from the Study Abroad Office!

Advantages of Studying Abroad:

Ø  Set yourself apart as one of the 2%
Ø  Gain cultural competency and work experience in a rapidly globalizing society
Ø  Study content in context for a once-in-a-lifetime educational opportunity

Important Reminders:

1)      It is not an ‘add on.’  All credit goes toward graduation requirements.
2)      It’s a great way to have an international experience with an internship or research (for credit), complete your language requirement, enhance your major/minor, and/or take elective courses not available at UIC.
3)      If you want a UIC faculty-led program with only UIC students, there are several programs this summer, ranging  from Italian Language and the Arts to Clinical Psychology Internships in Paris.
4)      Our goal for you is to ‘get someone else to pay for it’…last year over $250,000 in scholarships and grant funding went to UIC Study Abroad students.

“My most positive experience was near the end of the program when my Chilean friend told me that he was proud of how much my Spanish had improved throughout the semester.”
