POSITION AVAILABLE: Student Disability Specialist, Disability Resource Center

The University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking applicants for the position of Student Disability Specialist.

The Student Disability Specialist advises new and continuing students on disability services and accommodations at UIC.  Interviews students to determine eligibility, ensures documentation is appropriate and collaborates with disability technology specialist to provide campus access.  The Student Disability Specialist is also responsible for follow up consultation and advisement, student evaluation and assessments and student record maintenance.

A Bachelor's degree in disability studies or social services, with a focus on disability is required.  A minimum of two to four years experience as a case manager or in a student advocacy position, working directly with adults with disabilities.  Knowledge of disability-related laws and a large variety of disabilities and conditions.
Strong verbal and written communications skills; analytical, organizational and Microsoft Office skills.
