FOR YOUR INFORMATION, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: UIC Peer Mentoring Summit on Friday, March 4th – RSVP open until end of Monday, February 22nd

Dear Colleagues,

The Office of First-Year Initiatives would like to invite you to our first Peer Mentoring  Summit on March 4, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. to noon. The summit will bring together program administrators from each UIC peer mentoring program offered. The goal of the summit is to share best practices and foster a supportive community among the several offices who are engaged in this important work.

We are delighted that Karina Reyes from UIC's Department of Psychology will be our Keynote Speaker. Professor Reyes' research includes resilience and protective factors in urban minority children and adolescence.

Along with Professor Reyes, Aerika Brittian, assistant professor in UIC's Department of Educational Psychology, will also present. Her current research investigates risk and protective factors as they pertain to ethnic minority youth and families in urban settings.
