Today, our 2017 Provost’s Excellence in Undergraduate Advising Award winners received congratulations from Provost Poser and Vice Provost Varelas via campus announcement.

On behalf of the OAD Steering Committee and the OAD Advising Awards Committee, we are delighted to extend our congratulations to the 2017 Provost’s Excellence in Undergraduate Advising Award winners:

ADVISOR NEWS: CBA’s Diana Soriano is a recipient of this year’s NACADA Region 5 Excellence in Advising Award!

We are so very pleased that Diana Soriano of the College of Business Administration has been selected as a recipient of NACADA Region 5’s 2017 Excellence in Advising – Advisor Primary Role.

Established in 1983, the NACADA Annual Awards Program for Academic Advising honors individuals and institutions making significant contributions to the improvement of academic advising. In addition to her leadership in advising at UIC, Diana has served as a leader in NACADA Region 5 and is currently chairing pre-conference workshops.

ADVISOR NEWS – Congratulate AAAN’s Ashley Stone. She will be presenting twice at NASPA Region IV-E this November!

Have you heard the news? Are you going to NASPA Region IV-E this November in Schaumburg? If so, mark your calendars to see one of our own! Ashley Stone, Academic Counselor from African-American Academic Network (AAAN), will be presenting not one but two sessions at the NASPA Region IV-E.

 

The first of her presentations is “Creating a Global Community: Culture, Compassion, and Advising” which a number of us saw and participated in at last spring’s Advisor Conference during Advisor Week.

 

The second presentation is “Identity Change and Empowerment: Developing Community through Leadership,” which will feature information about the work and programs Ashley has done with AAAN.
